(CHADRON)-Entrants were busy at the start of the Dawes County Fair Friday morning dropping off items for a variety of open exhibits. Judging took place on many of those exhibits at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Exhibits will be available at various times for viewing during fair week.
The Australian musical group The McClymonts are in concert Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Dawes County Fairgrounds. Saturday will feature the 4-H horse show, a tree ID and horticulture judging clinic, and live entertainment by musician Bryan Fontenot (Fon-ten-O) as well as a dance and beer garden at the fairgrounds at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday is chock full of activities, including lawn mower races, the Dawes County Hall of Fame and awards reception, alpacas on display, an antique tractor pull, and a new feature this year, the potato gun contest.
Make sure to pick up a fair booklet, which has dates and times for all the events, and get out there and enjoy the fair!
