(Neb.)-One Transported To Hospital After Car Crashes Through Fence

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 07/30/2012 02:37 PM

(Chadron)-One person was taken to the hospital this afternoon (Monday) after a one-vehicle accident near an alley on 6th Street in Chadron. The call for the rescue unit went out around 2 pm, and was initially reported as a multi-vehicle accident.

On scene, it was discovered that one vehicle was involved in the crash, and it had left the roadway and struck a fence in the rear of a residence on Lake, just off the alley. According to witnesses on scene, the car had been swerving prior to leaving the road. The driver was complaining of feeling faint, and was transported to Chadron Community Hospital. Three passengers in the car were uninjured.

A large section of the fence was destroyed by the impact, and although it did not appear that the vehicle struck anything but the fence, there was a large evergreen tree behind the section of fence that was taken out, and the vehicle was resting just inches from the trunk.

No further information on the accident is available at this time, but as more information is released, we will pass that along to our listeners.
