By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 07/26/2012 01:25 PM
(CRAWFORD)-With the numerous fire calls that area firefighters have been called out on in recent weeks, the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department is finding its funds and fuel supply for vehicles running low. A fund has been established at Security First Bank in Crawford for those interested in donating to the cause. Just stop by Security First Bank and ask that your donation for fuel be earmarked for the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department. You can also mail donations to P.O. Box 506, Crawford, NE 69339.
Fire crews can also benefit from donations of food items that will not melt and do not need refrigeration, items that are accessible to them on the front lines. Examples of such items could include beef jerky, crackers, or granola bars. Such items can be dropped off at Tommy’s Car Lot locations in Chadron and Crawford, and Tommy’s employees will see to it that they are distributed to fire crews.
