(Neb.)-One Injured In Three Vehicle Accident West Of Chadron

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 07/24/2012 11:43 AM

(Chadron)-A three vehicle accident west of Chadron Monday evening sent one person to the hospital. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, 35-year-old Anthony Munchau of Sidney was west bound on Highway 20 in a 1995 Ford Taurus when he side swiped a vehicle pulling a camper.

Douglas Pavlick, age 51 from Chadron, was driving a 2002 GMC Sierra Pickup and hauling a 2003 Wildcat Camper and was struck by the Taurus. The Taurus then continued left of center and struck a 2007 Hummer, driven by 49-year-old Melinda Pavlick of Chadron. The Hummer was hauling a 2003 Metalcraft boat and trailer. The Taurus spun into the south ditch where it came to rest.

Munchau was transported to Chadron Community Hospital by ambulance, and then to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Neither of the Pavlicks were injured. All were wearing restraints. The boat, trailer and Taurus were considered a total loss. There was no damage to the pickup, the camper received $3000 in damage and the Hummer received $8000 in damage.

The Patrol said it is possible that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The highway was closed until approximately 9:40 on Monday evening.
