By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 07/24/2012 10:08 AM
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities have evacuated the Miracle Mile campground along the North Platte River because of a wildfire burning north of Seminoe Reservoir in south-central Wyoming.

The Seminoe Fire has burned about 3,100 acres of pine, sagebrush and grass in Carbon County since it was started by lightning last weekend. It is burning in rough terrain about a mile north of the Seminoe Dam.

No structures have burned, but there are a couple of dozen homes, cabins and a Bureau of Reclamation housing area threatened. The Miracle Mile is a popular fishing spot.

There are about 175 firefighters fighting the fire and more are being sent. There are three helicopters and five tankers helping to fight the fire. The fire is 22 percent contained.
