(Neb.)-Crawford No Longer In Need Of Four Wheelers To Help Fight Fire

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 07/22/2012 05:39 PM

(KCSR)-The Crawford Fire Department has been battling two fires southeast of Crawford. One of the fires appears to be near East Ash Creek Road, and the other appears to be in the vicinity of Belmont. Apparently firefighters from Chadron, Hemingford, and Alliance have been assisting, and it is unclear if other departments have also provided assistance. Officials on the scene say the situation would benefit from having aircraft assistance.

Crawford Fire was originally seeking help from owners of four wheelers with sprayers on them to help fight the fires. They are no longer in need of these.

A call to the Crawford Fire Hall requesting an update on these fires was denied, so we have no additional information at this time to pass on to our listeners.
