(Neb.)-Relief Fund To Be Set Up For Fire Victims

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 07/20/2012 11:14 AM

(Chadron)-Several families have been affected recently by residential fires, and there are many in the community who have inquired as to how they can help. Stereo AM 610 KCSR, in cooperation with the owners of the Blaine Hotel, Cindy and Larry Bagneschi, have established an account at First National Bank of Chadron for area residents who wish to help out those displaced by fires.

The idea for the fund was initially to help the victims of the Blaine fire, however the family who lost their home to a trailer fire on Tuesday night will also be able to get assistance with the funding.

To make a donation, simply go to First National Bank of Chadron with your donation, or mail it to the bank at One Flag Plaza in Chadron. Any residents seeking assistance can contact Cindy Bagneschi at the Blaine for an application, which will then be reviewed by a committee comprised of Bagneschi, KCSR/KBPY owner Dennis Brown, and Karen Gibson, to determine the amount of assistance.

Any monies not used after the requests for assistance have been fulfilled will be donated to the American Red Cross and earmarked for any future disasters in the Panhandle.  We are working on getting an application form, and hope to have that available this afternoon.
Make checks payable to:  Fire Relief Fund.
