(Neb.)-Record High Temperatures Forecast For Chadron

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 07/19/2012 01:43 PM

(Chadron)-High temperatures across the region have put a damper on outdoor activities for some. And according to John Griffith with the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, we could still see even hotter temperatures.

According to Griffith, the forecast for Chadron on Thursday is near record high temps. The record is 105, and as of 11:30 on Thursday it was already 100. In Alliance, the record for Thursday is 110, but he doesn’t know if it will get that warm. On Friday the records are 106 for Chadron and 108 for Alliance, and Griffith believes both of those records have a chance of being broken.  In fact, he said Friday could be the hottest day of the week.

Griffith said there is a very slim chance of precipitation in the near future, and temperatures will remain warm with the exception of next Tuesday, when a weak cold front will come through the area, possibly dropping temperatures into the 80s at best.
