EDGEMONT, South Dakota (AP) - A wildfire that scorched 14 square miles of southwest South Dakota is now fully contained as crews have been aided my recent rainfall.
More than 400 firefighters fought the White Draw Fire near Edgemont, and firefighters who battled the blaze are being dispatched to other Western fires.
Last Sunday, a C-130 air tanker crashed, killing four of the six crew members from a North Carolina National Guard unit.
Lands burned were primarily on National Forest lands in a mix of grasslands and timber, although some ranchers were affected.
