(Neb.)-Former Showdown Winner Auditioning For

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 07/06/2012 03:40 PM

(Chadron)-A former KCSR Texaco Country Showdown winner will be attempting to take her talent to the next level this weekend.  Cynthia O'Donnell will be traveling to Memphis, TN, to audition for the television show The Voice.  O'Donnell said that her nephew helped her come to the decision to go to the audition.

O'Donnell stated her nephew initially sparked her interest in the show, and told her she should audition.  After some consideration, and trying to talk herself out of it, she decided to go ahead and give it a try.  According to O'Donnell, people can't just show up to try out.  It must be thought out a bit more than that, and participants must be registered online before even heading to Memphis.

When getting registered, O'Donnell said information must be entered on the web site to determine eligibility, then contestants are assigned a number and must chose which site they will go to to audition.  She chose Memphis because the closer location, St. Paul, MN, was holding auditions the same weekend as her birthday and Fur Trade Days, and her schedule was too full.  Plus, O'Donnell said she has family that lives in Indiana, and they will be meeting in Memphis.

O'Donnell said these auditions are preliminary and will determine who gets to move on and be on television with the judges.  She is very thankful for the support of her family, and promises to share her experience when she gets home, and hopefully the results of her audition.
