 (Neb.)-Blink Causes Momentary Lapse Of Power
(Chadron)-Some Chadron residents experienced a very brief power outage this afternoon (Thursday) including the KCSR/KBPY studios in downtown Chadron. According to Jean Schieffer, Corporate Communications Public Relations Manager for Nebraska Public Power District, it is nothing that residents need to be concerned with.
Schieffer said the outage was caused by a flicker or a blink in the line, which means the breakers would be open, then close and reopen. These momentary interruptions in power caused several locations in town to experience the outage. As of this time, Schieffer is not sure what caused the blink, and said she does not want to speculate. There are many things which could have caused it from a squirrel to heat.
