CHADRON - The waiting game is over for Coy Bila. He's headed to Kansas City.
After winning the Pitch, Hit and Run competition at Coors Field in Denver earlier this month Bila has been waiting to find out if he would be a national finalist. MLB Network made the announcement Sunday evening and Bila has earned a trip to the All-Star game in Kansas City as one of the three national finalists.
MLB held competitions at all 30 baseball parks and from there the top three scores were named national finalists.
Bila will be joined by Ty Bender of Woodland, Pa. and Kyler Fedko of Gibsonia, Pa. in the 11 and 12 year old baseball division.
The three will compete prior to shagging fly balls for the State Farm Home Run Derby and attending the All-Star game.
The All-Star game is scheduled for July 10 at Kauffman Stadium, a day after the Home Run Derby.
