(S.D.)-Betting Hike Leads To More Security In Deadwood

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 06/10/2012 07:05 PM

DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) - Deadwood casinos are getting ready to
increase security along with their bet limits.
The betting limit will jump from $100 to $1,000 on July 1 thanks
to a law passed earlier this year by the South Dakota Legislature.
And with more money could come more problems.
Deadwood Gaming Association President Tom Nelson says new rules
have been recommended to make sure someone is monitoring blackjack
or house-banked poker games with bets above $100. Also, data
storage must be kept for 14 days now instead of seven.
Some casinos are increasing surveillance, requiring fixed cameras for blackjacks and requiring that recording equipment is inspected daily.
Cliff Emmert of Deadwood Mountain Grand says that casino already
has 200 cameras but will be getting "several more."
