STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota National Guard says an engineering company based in the northern Black Hills is the first in the nation to get new road graders.
The four graders are going to the 842nd Engineer Company of Spearfish, Belle Fourche (bell-FOOSH') and Sturgis. Members of the unit currently are serving in Afghanistan.
The Guard says the new graders are part of a nationwide effort to improve the equipment that Guard soldiers use when they respond to natural disasters at home or deploy overseas.
