(Neb.) - Boating safety test in Chadron

Chadron, Nebr. A boating safety exam will be held at the Upper Niobrara White NRD office in Chadron on Tuesday, June 12, according to Scott Eveland, Boating Safety Officer for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
According to Eveland, the Nebraska Boating Safety course is required of all power boat operators born after December 31, 1985, which includes operators of personal watercraft and all other motorboats. The minimum age to operate a boat in Nebraska is 14.
The certification is available in two formats. For this offering, students study the class materials online, then attend a three-hour review session with proctored exam.
In order to attend this test session, students preregister by calling Eveland at (308) 289-0017, study online at www.outdoornebraska.org/boating, and attend the review and test session. Students who have not pre-registered and completed the study materials will be denied admission to the review and test session. The registration deadline is June 8. There $10 fee has been waived for this course. The review and test session is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.. on Tuesday, June 12.
