CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Speaking at a press conference after Gov. Dave Freudenthal's state of the state address, legislative leaders from both parties said they agree with his admonition not to spend the state's savings.
Republican state Senate President John Hines of Gillette says it's always a good idea to have a little money in the bank.
Democratic Sen. Kathryn Sessions of Cheyenne says she expects that very few lawmakers will favor increased spending from the state's reserves.
Freudenthal urged lawmakers to support his call for a new generation tax on wind energy production in the state.
Hines says he supports consideration of the wind tax this session.
