PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A Rapid City real estate broker has been sentenced for bribing a state transportation official.

Douglas Andrews was sentenced Friday on three felony counts of bribery of a public officer. He was given a suspended sentence that included 60 days of jail time and $3,000 in fines. He was also ordered to serve five years' probation and pay $125,000 in restitution.

Andrews previously pled guilty to the charges.

Andrews was accused in a bribery scheme involving land purchased by the state Transportation Department for highway work in the Rapid City area.

Former department official Clayton Sonnenschein of Pierre also was charged and pleaded guilty.

Prosecutors have said Sonnenschein accepted $47,000 in bribes from Andrews.
