To the post of Nick and RE:Nick. My name is Michelle, I am Jeff's sister. Maybe I can answer some questions for you. When the post on Chadrad was made, there were not a lot of details anyone knew. In this situation, even us as the family closest to him may never know. What we do know, we would openly share with anyone, to help them with closure in this tragic incident. Yes, Jeff was the Dawes County Veteran's Service Officer- and from what I have heard and am hearing- he was DARN good at it. :-) I was and still am so very proud of my baby brother in that way! I am also proud of him in the fact that he was the most compassionate and selfless person I have ever know. Under normal circumstances, the "infliction" he was struggling with, people that are hurting tend to lash out and direct their hurt and anger at either the person that hurt them or just anyone in general. Up until the end, Jeff never did this. He carried this burden himself. Depression is such a misunderstood "diagnosis". It cannot be seen on a cat scan, it cannot be pain medicated- however, some medicate it with alcohol, drugs...Jeff remained sober for the last 2 1/2 years of his life. So, all we are left to conclude, is that the burden he was carring became so heavy, he got tired and weak- and we didn't have the advantage of "seeing" the pain, like you would in a physical diagnosis of some sort of illness. Jeff was the Veteran's Service Officer, but there were no guidelines to follow as to how much to release on the media report and it had nothing to do with his occupation. He was also an avid Husker Fan, a Very Loved Brother, Son, Uncle, Friend, Cousin--he wore many hats in this life- and none of them had guidelines on how much to put in a media release. It all came down to there was not much known at them time and we would rather have the facts, than assumptions released. However, the facts were not available at that very moment. In the past week, we have been able to obtain certain facts, a few assumptions, and then what we truly feel and have accepted in our hearts to get through this time. I have tried to keep everyone posted on facebook, emails, texts and calls..but I don't pass anything on until it is resolved as a fact. Yes, sometimes the facts are painful- but anyone wanting to know them, I would be willing to share, I needed this for the somewhat closure I am getting through, and I wish to pass that on. This tragedy didn't just limit the pain and shock to the family, friends, veteran's..it rippled through quite an area. I hope this answers your question. I would be willing to share anything more in details or facts that you or anyone would have, as we now have a few of them. Also, thank you for your condolences and God Bless you!

It's sad to hear about the condition of the buildings at CPS. I do know that in the early to mid 2000's the Superintendent was very proactive as far as the facilities were concerned. He worked with his administrative team, maintenance, and school board to constantly have a 5-year plan for each of the buildings. The reason? The effort in keeping things in good working order far outweighs the huge costs if nothing is done within a reasonable time frame. It sounds as though the current Superintendent is also thinking proactively.

I am a 1983 Graduate of Chadron High School. I attended East Ward Elementary, Kenwood Elementary, and the Chadron Middle School as well. I have spent the majority of my life(1973-1985 and 3 return stays as a resident including currently)in Chadron, and being 46 years old that is a fairly significant amount of time...but that still doesn't mean I know everything about the school system or the town itself, so I'm not going to pretend to be any kind of expert. What I can tell you living here and other towns/cities is that nothing is more important to the livelyhood of a community than the school system. I'd say 8 or 9 out of 10 people you talk to(that have kids, plan to have kids, or have had kids) will rank the quality and condition of the education/school as the top reason for moving or not moving into a community as well as for staying in or leaving a community. After the school system, things like places to shop, taxes, infastructure, median wages, etc. fall in behind in different order depending on the person and their stage in life. I don't think there's anyone out there that enjoys paying taxes of any kind, let alone see them increase...but then again, how else do you pay for things(schools, parks, sewers, streets, etc.)? Outside of taxes, you pretty much have grants, loans, and private donations. The less of the latter means a necessity for more tax revenue. To increase tax revenue, you either have to raise everybody's share of that burden, or better yet, attract more people to live in your community and therefore share that burden with more people and decrease everybody's share. Of course that's refering to property tax. On the other side, you can attract more people to shop in your community, therefore raising more sales tax revenue which can in turn help relieve the property tax burden. It all goes back to the old saying "You've got to spend money to make money." Instead of viewing these needed expenditures for the school(s), streets, etc. as expenses...they should be viewed as investments. In the end it boils down to simple math, economics, and logic. You can't keep going back in the past and point fingers at who dropped the ball...that doesn't solve anything. You can only be proactive now and find out what's wrong and begin taking the necessary steps to correct those issues. The worst thing you can do is nothing...it only makes those matters worse and as time goes by, funding goes down and costs go up....period. I personally feel that Dr. Winchester is doing a wonderful job as Superintendant. I've never seen one more visible, active, caring, and transparent than her. She encourages and relies on input from the community. The teachers, administration, and school board should all be commended for the time and effort they put in trying to better the education and learning environment for our children(and by "our" I mean the whole community's), who literally are our future. No one is perfect, but before you judge, put yourself in their shoes...there's probably a reason why you're not in them...either because you're not qualified, or you just would rather not have the headache it takes to fill them. Go check out the condition of the schools before you vote. It's also so important to shop local first...see what they have to offer...then show them what the competition on-line or in the next larger city has to offer and at what price...you never know...they may be able to order the same thing...they may be able to come down in price...they may even be able to meet or beat it...or it may not be high enough to make it worth the trip. (A good business person would rather make less of a profit than lose the sale altogether) Don't forget to figure in the extra cost(gas, food, lodging(if needed)) of traveling out of town to shop. Don't forget the shipping and handling cost of ordering on-line, not to mention the time it takes to get to you...and most of all in both cases. What about service after the sale?...repair, replacement, etc... Just remember that money spent inside your own town/county/state in some shape or form recycles back into your pocket(not all of course, but at least a portion of it), while on-line or out of state/area...not so much. That's enough of my rambling for now...it's been a long time since I've chimed in, so there was a lot to get off my chest...it may not solve everything...or not much at all...but hopefully generate more positive ideas. No matter where we end up living, I will always care about the community that I grew up in and helped raise me.

If the past superintendent would have had a year, 5year and 10 year plan for the buildings and then followed it, there is a good chance our schools would not be in the situation they are in now. If you recall the high school track took HOW LONG to get resurfaced? Because it was not maintained (which costs money) it cost us taxpayers alot more than it should have. Saving money short term does not always mean saving money long term. Something has to be done with the buildings. I believe water, mold and poor venilation is not a good environment for my child or any other to learn in. Yes, something should have been done with the last school board (some of the last board are still on this one) but lets try and move forward and get things taken care of. Worry about the board members that got our buildings this way in the next election in November.

From: CHS Parent   02/02/2012 11:17 AM
To CHS Graduate: I can't believe you need a pitch to be sold on something as important as our schools. Does it make it more appealing if it would lie to you and say new buildings would be built and that major changes will happen? Get over it, this is the cost of just bringing the buildings up to a decent standard. No fancy frills included! Being a good citizen means we have to pay for things that all the citizens use - police, fire department, parks, schools. Why do we always balk at anything for education? I haven't had to experience using the police or fire department directly, but I sure am not going to say we don't need to keep their equipment up to date, because one day if I have an emergency I would hope they have the necessary tools to help in my time of need. Same with a school. Yes, some people here don't have a child in the school system or ever did. But as a citizen of Chadron they should want to keep our schools in good upkeep for the pride of our community and realize that we can't pick and choose what services we decide to support. The U.S. just amazes me. We complain that our students don't compare with other countries but we don't want to pay to educate them. In this instance our teachers and staff are doing an awesome job of that, so they just want to do it in a safer environment! And in regard to Mr. Applegarth, yes there are other options of keeping the costs down, however, as with anything government related how much longer would we have to wait for studies and then specialized bids? This restoration project is so far overdue it isn't even funny, so I'm not certain I want to wait another several years to get the ball rolling.

Darrell DO NOT Blame the employees of the school district there were the best train trained people I could make them they all went to differnt schools from grounds to building updates sure we could not send all of them but the key people went. We had adminstration who was so worried about the bottom line and money in the bank that it went to hell in how ever long he was here so Please dont blame the employees look at the Supertedent at the time and his school Board that was impressed by the bottom line

Many within the community have expressed their concern regarding the public schools and the pursuant of a 11.9 million dollar bond for needed repairs. I would encourage people with any concern to attend a meeting held by the Superintendant and or ask for a walk through the schools to get an idea as to what the bond issue entails. It truly helps everyone on both sides of the issue if citizens participate rather than comlain. Myself and others have attended the meeetings and the board members and staff have been more than cooperative and value input. Though I do not support the whole bond I deffinitely see things that need immediate attention on the schools

We citizens of Chadron need to be making bigger plans regarding improvements to the Chadron school system. The waning economy has already brought the closing of our surrounding country schools thus integrating them into the Chadron city school system. Consequently, we do not have enough space to comfortably accommodate the surplus of students for the time being. As the national economy continues with its consistent decline, there is a high probability that our neighboring towns of Crawford and Hay Springs might find it necessary to merge their school systems with Chadron for survival as well. This has already happened in the towns of Rushville and Gordon. In conclusion, it is better to make prudent plans now than to have a similar crisis to deal with later. This prospect needs to be carefully thought out before the final deal is made.

Confused: Are we led to believe there is no asbestos in the City Schools? I spent 29 years working in public buildings and never ran into one(20 years old) that did not contain asbestos. It is very costly to remove. I would also like to know if we are going to train employees on the upkeep of buildings or just let them go as we have the last 25 years? Someone let these buildings get in this sad state.

From: Re: Nick   01/31/2012 03:22 PM
I would have to agree with Nick. In order to be a credible news source outside dictations should not be made. This was a tragic situation and the full details of this incident would of been damaging to family members. Looking back to past stories I am reminded of the situations involving David Noble who was a public figure many years serving the City of Chadron. This man had a disease that he could not control and KCSR/Chadrad were always the front reporter of incidents that occurred without taking into regard of the damage it may of done to his wife or more importantly his three daughters. These three girls had to go to school every day after their fathers news was front and centered on the homepage. That brings me back to another issue. I never saw this particular incident as a top story on the homepage. Was this another dictation or request? I think all is asked of KCSR/Chadrad is that all news be kept on the same level and if that playing field is now to keep private matters private then so be it.

While I will always stand by my former employer, I think Chadrad Comm. made a mistake by not passing along all the information available. The purpose of a news department is to inform the public, especially when it involves a public employee, like it does with the unfortunate death of Jeff Fankhauser. Everyone agrees that it's a tragic situation, but news departments can't be in the business of letting the public dictate what is and isn't included in the news...especially when the information has already been made public by other news outlets. Unless excluding the cause of death in a public servants passing is now company-wide policy, it should be included in all instances, no matter how close those affected are to the company. By letting people outside the news department dictate included details, you put the integrity of the department as risk. While we all understand why the request was made, but there should be understanding that the public has the right to know the details of a public official's passing. Chadrad/KCSR is easily the best place to get local Chadron-area news and it always will be. I hope a mistake like this doesn't affect the public's view on the news department and the good work being done. Finally, I would also like to extend sympathies to the Fankhauser family. Thoughts and prayers are sent your way from the entire Chadron community in this difficult time.

Are pigs flying? I think they must be, because I actually AGREE with something Joseph Applegarth wrote.... (although it did make a lot of sense and didn't use ridiculous words, so maybe he didn't write it). Regardless, the post about the school bond issue was on target. I hope some of these ideas (low interest loans, etc.) are considered.

Why is the concept that nothing has yet been proven bu either the NCAA or state ausitor so hard to understand? If either judges the coaches actions to be a violation the a punishment is justified. Schools self report themselves all the time, i have yet to see one fire the coach before the investigation by the governing authorities is complete. Most institutions don't pass judgement based on an audit that has proven to be at least somewhat in error and was called "unusual" incomplete by the state auditor who is the ruling entity in state funding matters.

From: Playing Favorites   01/30/2012 06:30 PM
It is interesting that Chadrad-KCSR is always so quick to report on any death (foul play suspected or not), House Party Bust (MIP),or really any incident where a name can be named & blamed (you all get the idea at what I am getting at). Yet when one of their employees family member's reputation is on the line they wait to release a report and then add a clause that no further details will be reported per the families request. I commend KCSR for finally understanding that sometimes things are better left unsaid due to reputations in this small town. I would like others thoughts and opinions on this... Why is it acceptable to play favorites in one way and not extend that luxury to others? Editors Note: No current employee of Chadrad Communications is related to the family. The Story was posted, broadcast when it was released to us by authorities on Monday morning.

@csc alum. The administration self reported because O Boyle went against the guidelines. Same reason why Tom Osbourne self reported Nebraska for NCAA infractions 2 years ago. If you don't do it, then your school could be penalized heavily. And for one persons mistake? That is not for the greater good. If Mr. Smith confronted O Boyle about it and didn't do anything about it, he would be risking his job and his lively hood. People are so quick to point fingers, but I would have done the same thing. Is it unfortunate that they had to let him go after 20 years? Yes. Was it a hard decision to make? Probably. But in the end of it, even if O Boyle's actions weren't malicious. He still didn't follow the rules. And when you don't follow the rules there are repercussions. Plain and simple.

To CSC alum: You have raised several good points, here are a few of mine that pertain to the issue. Whether the golf acct was not legal according to the ncaa has not yet bet determined by the ncaa. Why did the CSC admin see the need to expend all that money when the state auditor who's job it is to investigate these types of issues was already looking into it? Why did the dir. of the NSCS send e-mails to CSC faculty to not talk to the state auditor? Why the need to hire an expensive atty. when it was the coach accused of wrongdoing? The BKD audit was nothing more than a smoke screen to appear to justify the actions of the admin. to remove the coach in mid season when nothing had yet been proven. Why no press release or newspaper story about the innaccuracies in the BKD audit? To say that no one knew about the "last chance for glory" golf acc is ludicrous a story appeared all 4 years in the CSC eagle newspaper and the A.D. was quoted in the chadron record in July about what a good thing it was for CSC football. There are many inconsistentcies in the CSC admins. side of this story.

Warm, Safe, Dry. This is your pitch for an 11.9 million dollar deal. Is this money for renovations or for a homeless shelter, sounds like a homeless shelter. Please work on a pitch that sounds like an 11.9 million dollar pitch. Once you have come up with a pitch have someone sell this pitch to the public, not Superintendent Caroline Winchester. At the last council meeting I could not hear you over everyone snoring because you put them to sleep, maybe look into speaking right before nap time at local day cares you would be a hit. We need these renovations and we are going to need to sell this to the public in order to get this money to do so, so please rethink your campaign. As of now I vote no, and I understand we need it but remember these are the people who let the schools get this out of hand in the first place and now we are going to give these same people 11.9 million dollars, why would we. SELL THE PUBLIC WITH SOMETHING WE WILL NOT VOTE NO ON.

The buildings comprising the Chadron school system are in desperate need of modernization for many tenable reasons; this is an irrefutable fact. The only argument pivots on the financing options from which to choose. There is no need for the community to panic or quibble. The solution to most problems is always simple when wisdom is employed. Let us examine some favorable facts regarding Chadron’s public school system. We have the best superintendent and principal combination in the history of our town, in my opinion. Our laudable teachers are responsible for producing some of the highest testing scores in the entire nation. If any generation of students and staff were worthy of a topnotch overhaul to their school’s infrastructure, it is certainly this group. We need to restore the school buildings correctly and for the long term. The lack of money is not the problem that we are facing: it is the state government taxing us to death here in Dawes County. The Chadron school system should have its own [private] escrow account secured at a local bank which is entirely off limits to the state government and impervious to lawsuits. Fortunately, there are many options available to us for financing with low interest rates. We need to explore these financial options and choose what is best for us as a community for the next two decades, and we need to make sure that these structural improvements are executed with perfection and not slapped together. Geothermal heating and cooling should be required. Some people are not aware that our public school system is required to accept every student applicant and furthermore has to cater to every handicapped situation imaginable. Though I am an advocate for parochial schools, I realize that we have few of them left. This is our current reality and we have to address the here and now.

From: concerned parent and taxpayer   01/26/2012 06:11 PM
I have been reading about the issues facing the problems that need fixed with our school buildings and am wondering how it got to be so bad and the parents and community is just now hearing of this? It would seem to me if we had issues with mold in the high school that has been affecting students and staff that someone would have come forward before now to voice these issues? If our past principle, superintendent and school board members knew about this and did nothing then why didn't the students, parents or teachers let the rest of the community know? It is the responsibility of the staff in our schools to help keep our kids safe and yet now I'm told that my kids have been exposed to all this mold. Is that why my kids are sick more now that they are in high school then they ever were when they attended the country school? What about all those times Weathercraft has been here to repair or replace the roof on the high school? If they did not do their job correctly did they get paid anyway? I know that I have seen them here several times and in fact they were just here this past summer. I'm not saying that there aren't things that need done but just want to know why we were not told of these things before, who is ultimately going to be responsible for this mess? Are our kids safe there now or do we need to take immediate steps? Makes me wonder if I should continue to send my kids into that building.

In my opinion there already IS a citizen group going over the city manager applications, it's the city council. They are the represenatives of the city chosen to do the job, let them do it. I'm sure it'll be hard enough with that small of a group gaining a concensus on the best canidate if there are more than one qualified, the last thing needed is throwing more people and opinions in the mix. Just my thoughts.

I've read a lot of the posts about Coach OB and the investigation into the accounts. I've read the report from BKD and have kept up on this issue. My one question to all of you, whether you support OB or not: Why were steps not taken WITHIN the CSC administration to FIX the accounting issues before spending all this money on an investigation? If they "thought" (I use that word loosely. I truly believe that Mr. Brad Smith knew of these accounts) there were accounts being set-up and used outside of the CSC Foundation, why not confront OB and set things straight? Instead they blind-side him and throw him under the bus? That is the part I'm not ok with!! And most AD's support their coaches, not take over their job! I agree that having the accounts was a violation. I agree that something should have been done. But a lot of money could have been saved had the administration taken steps to correct things within before it got this far. It's all too shady in my opinion!

I am wondering about the city manager application and if there will be a citizen committee appointed to help select the new manager when the finalists are revealed? It seems that this is a very important position and should be regarded as such with "many eyes and ears". Also I am concerned that Chadron is staying "as is", which really means falling behind. Comments about not wanting to fix our infrastructure will keep us from getting highway 20 repaved. We need to look forward and realize the effect of what we do now will have on the future of Chadron. It is not for us but those that are behind us and wish to be proud of their city and it's future. By having an attractive city, we could entice more businesses and residents which would help our tax burden. We all need to put our own interests behind and work together in a positive manner for Chadron.

The story can be seen in the entry, HISTORY MOMENT 133 - The 1897 UFO. Over a period of three months, more than 300 sightings of the object were reported in southeastern Nebraska. It all began with a few people reporting seeing it over Hastings. Here is an article snip from the February 2, 1897 Hastings newspaper: "At first sight it has the appearance of an immense star, but the powerful light shows by its color to be artificial. The light was seen to circle around for a few minutes, then take a northerly direction, circling as it traveled at a most remarkable speed." (I don't believe that ETs are, or have ever, visited Earth, but what an intriguing historical tidbit this is. I wonder what the object was. Could the first report have been a hoax, followed by reports from people imagining they saw it too? Could it have been a plasma sphere? Any ideas?

Our American Constitution is the [supreme] law of the land, which is clearly stated in law books. This is why every elected official is required to swear an Oath of Office to protect and defend this indispensable bastion of protection against tyranny. Remember, tyranny always comes in the form of government and starts out hiding its theft [Under the Color of Law]. Many uncertified statutes define the legal phrase called [Color of Law] defined in Black’s Law Dictionary. This is what I will postulate in my opening statement. The year 2012 will determine if we retain our American Constitution. You can rest assured that I will defend it valiantly and with eloquence. I concede to the fact that not all people deserve constitutional rights. However, there are many that do, and it is these noble individuals whom I am fighting for. The fate of those who lack the mental capacity to appreciate the virtue of liberty will fall victim to tyranny and be destroyed by its cruelty. This universal law is called the law of sowing and reaping. My defense in court will be academic in nature; therefore, there will be no obstreperous outbursts hence indecorum. And yes, big words are wielded in court trials and they certainly will be employed this Thursday. Please pray for liberty to prevail. Thank you.

To Janet, I agree there needs to be a light there, and there have been numerous accidents there over the years, including some pretty serious ones. Unfortunately since it is a highway, the city cannot put a light there without the state's blessing. The state has sent out crews to study the intersection(a few times I believe)and have decided it doesn't merit a stoplight...apparently they didn't do the study during Sturgis ;)

I am surprised at the the spelling mistakes in the news articles and headlines. Do you not have a proof-reader? Please pay more attention!

To Tired of It: Maybe some people only get on the Guest Book just to laugh at Applegarth but I for one don't. I enjoy hearing more interesting things that are going on in Chadron. The poor little feller is probably bored to death so has to rant and rave and take up someone else's space on here. If everyone would just quit commenting on his remarks, maybe he'd get tired of not getting all the attention and quietly GO AWAY. I wish Guest Book had a "hide" button like Facebook does - maybe that would free up some space for other people who do have important comments to make.

I hope no one shows up to Mr. Applegarths trial. He is a unlawful citizen preforming illegal acts. I am not trying to be offensive nor rude but I believe the law pertains to everyone even you Joseph. Please put down the thesauras and talk like a normal person because I know for a fact you do not use this extensive vocab in a face to face conversation. You deserve this fine just like anyone else who performs illegal acts. Once again I am not trying to offend you I just believe you are taking this to a whole new level. Oh and we all watch football because it is what normal people do! GO PATS!

What i am tired of is people being judge and jury in the football coaches case before the ruling authorities have submitted their reports. As with alot of things discussed on this forum their are plenty of people who decide ones fate by a couple of news stories.Don't be surprised if the coaches departure is NOT the end of the story.Only one side has come out so far. I guess i was naive to believe that most people wait for ALL the facts to come out before rendering judgement.

To Roger: I am with Christopher on being confused with why you keep saying the report in unauthorized. Do you truly believe that the BKD would put their reputation on the line by making up information for a case in Chadron NE. I understand that you and the coach probably have a friendship and I commend you for your support and loyalty throughout this process but your grasp for reality is way out of whack. The Facts are the Facts and those are simply that the coach has written checks TO CASH for over $20,000. I think any competent person would agree that you are either doing something wrong or hiding something if you are writing checks TO CASH. And then some of the checks to “benefit the football program” were written to the 120 Bar…does this really benefit the football program? Also, remember he signed a legal document saying there were no other accounts. Then subsequently admitted to the fact that there was another “secret” account that nobody knew about (It’s all in the BKD report…make sure you go back and read the whole thing and not just what you want to remember) All this seems just a little bit shady to me to say the least. So please do this, continue to support the coach if you feel the need but please do not continue to try and paint the picture that he was done wrong by the college. It is a business just like anywhere else and when people do wrong there are consequences. And trust me I will continue to support Chadron State.

yo applegarth, how in the world is our future effected by you not being able to pump our pits? And for what reason would we want to show up to represent this crazy man who overloads the KCSR site. You are taking this to a whole different level that no one understands. For one, maybe put your rants into words in which we all (including yourself) can understand. Oh and one more thing instead of ranting about our government on Chadrad, maybe take matters into your own hands because lets face the fact, people get on to the Chadrad Guest Book for one reason, the reason being to laugh at this Applegarth fella. Oh and Jimmy, KEEP IT UP, people are obvioiusly listening to you more than Joseph!!

Am I the only one who thinks there should be a stoplight in the intersection of big bats? It is very dangerous and I am surprised there hasn't been a serious accident there yet. With the truckers, the fast food places, and walmart there needs to be a stop light.

I'm really tired of everybody talking bad about O'Boyle on here. The fact of the matter is, he had a boss and that boss is just as responsible as him for what occured, if not more. How that boss is able to move forward and be on the hiring committee for the next coach is beyond me. How that boss is still employed by the college is beyond me. The admin had a mindset to have O'Boyle removed and now I am happy for he is at a better place. Not looking forward to the beatings CSC will take from Mesa the next ten years while we are still rebuilding from this whole mess caused by the administration.

From: CSC Insider   01/15/2012 01:17 PM
We that work at the college were sick of the needless spending long before this football investigation. As of December 25, the cost was well over $125,000.00. That's a lot of ping pong balls, computers or football equipment. Do we really need all the cute little flower pots all around the campus. Is anyone in charge up here?

From: THINK AGAIN   01/13/2012 04:40 PM
I am tired of hearing and reading comments from people complaining about the of the cost of the CSC investigation and heralding ex-coach Bill O'Boyle. Have you stopped to think that the investigation wouldn't have been necessary if OB would have done his job as he was supposed to have done? There was protocol to account for expenditures and that process applies to everyone working for CSC . Some of the people pointing fingers at CSC admin and stating that OB should consider hiring a lawyer better watch their verbal and written comments, themselves. Slander? Libel?

From: Outraged   01/13/2012 08:19 AM
I canno believe that this investigation into OBoyles shoddy banking practices has now cost the school $98,000.00. This sickens me! I am a frugal college student that just makes enough money to get buy each month and support my family. The college has no more finacial aid for someone like me but they have bottomless pockets to throw at a former employee's mistake. I think that OBoyle was wrong to do things the way he did - But I am just as upset that the college can tap into funds that should be utilized for students and basically proove something that was already known. Shame on you CSC and OBoyle!

From: Roger Nelson   01/12/2012 03:32 PM
Big J-Thank you. Did you see the Eagle paper today? These audits, as of November 30th, have now cost you and me $98,749.00 and climbing. These audits should have been done by the State Auditor and the Attorney General.

From: Get Real!!   01/12/2012 03:10 PM
Even with the inaccurate report of BKD, does OB still need our pity and our support. Those accounts did not create themselves, nor did the money show up in there a miracle. I don't see how CSC pushed him away from the same guidelines that all other activitites/programs follow. If anything we should support the football team, not the wrongdoing of the person behind the wheel.
