12/19/2017 - Mary Agnes LaDeaux

Funeral services for Mary Agnes LaDeaux, age 85, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson, SD.

Burial will be at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Cemetery in Manderson, SD.

Mary was born on March 21, 1932 in Manderson, SD to Emanuel LaDeaux and Mary A. Plenty Wolf. She passed away on December 10, 2017 at Rim Country Health in Payson, AZ.

Mary moved to and lived in Rapid City, SD most of her life, surrounded by much of her family. She had two daughters, Loris Swank of Torrington, WY and Lynn Hobbs of Omaha, NE, and one son, James Teal of Omaha, NE.

In 2002, Mary moved to Dilkon, AZ, where she learned to speak Navajo fluently. She lived there until the time of her passing. She had a quiet, dry sense of humor and an optimistic way of living life. She would tell others to be strong and carry on even when things get rough and it seems like you cannot take it anymore. Always remember all the good and leave out all the rest. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.

Mary is survived by daughters Loris (Raymond) Swank of Torrington, WY and Lynn (Damon) Hobbs of Omaha, NE; son James Teal of Omaha, NE; grandchildren Vanessa LaDeaux and Samantha, Matthew, and Tre’ Stewart, all of Torrington, WY and Trinity and Maddox Hobbs of Omaha, NE; great-grandchild ShayLi Tyrone of Torrington, WY; niece Marleen Edberg and family of Greeley, CO; cousin Mary Ann High Crane of Rapid City, SD; her deceased sister’s grandchildren Byran and Felisha LaDeaux and Angela and Anselmo Fuentes, all of Scottsbluff, NE; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by grandson Jason Black Bear; granddaughter Savanna Black Bear; sister Dorothy LaDeaux; parents Mary (Plenty Wolf) and Emmanuel LaDeaux; nephew David High Crane; and cousins Dorothy Lahn and Frank High Crane.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Mary Agnes LaDeaux.
