11/21/2017 - Jason Loafer Sr.

Funeral services for Jason Wade Loafer Sr., age 43, will be at at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., Father Peter Klink, S.J., and Pastor Elton Yellow Boy officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by George Apple.
 
Burial will be at St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
 
A one-night wake service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD.
 
Jason was born on January 10, 1974 in Pine Ridge, SD to Perry Zephier and Marilyn “Faye” (Loafer) Zephier. He made his journey to the Spirit World on November 15, 2017 in Rapid City, SD.
 
Jason is survived by wife Gayla (Adams) Loafer; father Perry Zephier; children Shanda Stevin, Annie Goodwin, Libby Loafer and Jason Loafer Jr.; stepchildren Randi, Rachel, Raquel, Rena and Rebecca Hunter; 10 grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Vanessa Zephier, Alicia (Travis) Janis, Amber (Hermus) Bettelyoun, Roger Yellow Boy, Sherrie (Art) Has No Horse, Rochelle (Nicholas) Black Elk, JoAnn Mousseaux, Crystal Yellow Boy, Karla Marghein and JoDean Wewenis; uncles Acey Loafer Jr. and Benjamin Loafer; and grandparents Bernice Goodro, Chauncey Loafer, Darlene Rosane and Sterline Rooks.
 
Jason was preceded in death by mother Marilyn Faye Zephier; brother Percy Zephier; grandparents Acey Loafer Sr. and Yvonne Loafer and Harvey and Colleen Zephier; uncle Bill Loafer; aunts Marie and Joyce Loafer; cousins Frank Rencountre, Daniel Loafer, Jamie Loafer, Deanna Loafer and Tanya Loafer; nephew Terrell Janis; niece Yvonne Loafer; and mother- and father-in-law Sam and Angie Loud Hawk.
 
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Jason Wade Loafer Sr.
