Funeral services for Hakeka Luzan Sna Mani “Wapa Ho Waste’,” age 34, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Little Boy Sundance Grounds three miles east of the Porcupine Store near Porcupine, SD. Native American Church services will be provided by Sandor Iron Rope, Kirk Fool Bull, and Paul Never Misses A Shot. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Chief Leonard Crow Dog Sr., Chief Steve DuBray Sr., and Chief Henry Howell.
Burial will be at the Sna Mani Family Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night at 10:00 AM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, SD. The second night will begin at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Little Boy Sundance Grounds three miles east of the Porcupine Store near Porcupine, SD.
Hekeka was born on March 22, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to Michael Little Boy Sr. and Rita J. Iron Rope. He made his journey to the Spirit World on October 31, 2017 in Porcupine, SD.
Hekeka is survived by father Wakinyan Sna Mani Sr. of Porcupine, SD; brothers Wohkage Sna Mani, Wakinyan Sna Mani II, and Wambli Sna Mani, all of Porcupine, SD; sisters Shena Sna Mani-Kills Back, Monica Sna Mani, and Angelique Sna Mani, all of Porcupine, SD; and children Ricco Sna Mani, Edwin Oliver Sna Mani, and Pejuta Sna Mani, all of Rosebud, SD and Kobe Steele of Pine Ridge, SD.
Hekeka was preceded in death by mother Rita Jane Iron Rope.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Hakeka Luzan Sna Mani “Wapa Ho Waste’.”
