Funeral services for Tamela Lee (Lester) Kienigner, age 59, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, SD.
Cremation will follow funeral services.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Behrens Wilson Funeral Home in Rapid City, SD. Vigil services will start at 7:00 PM, also at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home.
Tamela passed away on June 14, 2017 in Rapid City, SD. She was born on August 31, 1957 in Rapid City, SD to Gary and Rose (O’Rourke) Lester. She attended school in Rapid City and graduated from Steven’s High School in 1976. After Tammy graduated, she went to college at Western Dakota Tech and worked at many places throughout her life in the Rapid City area.
Tamela loved spending time with her family. She would take her kids and grandchildren camping and hiking often. She also loved doing crafts such as pottery, painting, crocheting, and sewing. She was amazing at all of those things and much of her valuable of art work is cherished by her family. Tammy’s children and grandchildren loved all the fun crafts they used to do with her. She enjoyed blues music, watching ballets, and was very family oriented. She also enjoyed watching movies with her daughter and spending quality time with her son. Tamela was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she will be missed dearly.
Tamela is survived by father Gary Lester of Rapid City, SD; son Joseph Robert Kieninger of Rapid City, SD; daughter Vanessa Eve Lester of Rapid City SD; brother Craig Lester of Rapid City SD; sisters Monica Whirlwind Horse of Manderson, SD, Dahna Allard and Rena Lester of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Reyna Lester, Fernando Acuna, Alex Hawkins, Tyler Vickerman, and Beau Vickerman, all of Rapid City, SD; and best friend Rhonda Weaver of Rapid City, SD.
Tammy was preceded in death by mother Rose (O’Rourke) Lester.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Tamela Lee (Lester) Kienigner.
