Funeral services for Elaine Parker Johnson, age 85, of Alliance, Nebraska will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Reverend Russell Saito officiating.
Burial will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, South Dakota.
A memorial has been established for the Alliance Public Schools Foundation for the arts program. Memorials may be sent in care of the A.P.S. Foundation, 1604, Sweetwater Avenue, Alliance, NE 69301.

She was born November 3, 1928 in Mitchell, NE. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Gates and Rose (Hotaling) Parker.
In 1954 she was united in marriage to Robert A. L. Johnson in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 2000. They moved to Alliance shortly after they were married. In 1960 they designed and built their home where she has resided since.
Elaine owned and operated Elaine’s Art Gallery in Alliance for many years. She started her business on Flack Avenue before moving it to its Box Butte Avenue location which she operated until 2011. She loved children and especially enjoyed the children’s art classes that she taught. Elaine was a member of the Box Butte Art Society, active at the Carnegie Arts Center and was involved with the Chamber of Commerce and Keep Alliance Beautiful.
Immediate Survivors:
Sons: Lerick (Cheryl) Johnson and Michael L.O. Johnson of Alliance.
Grandchildren: Derek (Megan) Johnson and Carley Johnson of Alliance, David Johnson of Fort Worth, TX.
Great-Grandchildren: Corbin and Kaelen Johnson of Alliance.
