Funeral services for Nicholene Yvonne Osborne, age 59, of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, with Mr. Charles McGaa and Reverend Abraham Tobacco officiating.
Burial will be at HolyRosaryCatholicMissionCemetery, Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
The first night of a two night wake service will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at at the Pine Ridge CAP Office in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, with the second night will be Friday, February 7, 2014 at at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
Nicholene Yvonne (Crazy Thunder) Osborne was born in Rushville Ne. on February 16, 1954 to Nicholas James & Jeanette Francis (Randall) Crazy Thunder.
She attended PineRidgePublic School her grade school years, she then attended high school at Marty Mission & Holy Rosary Mission where she graduated in 1972, she attended HaskellIndianCollege for 2 years, and she attended OglalaLakotaCollege of & on until she received her AA degree in Secretarial Science in 1981.
Nichole enjoyed playing volleyball, baseball and riding horse, she also loved to sing.
Nichole was also a member of AIM where she participated in the “Longest Walk” from Wounded Knee, SD to WashingtonDC.in 1973-78.
Nichole married Fred Bagola in July 1973 from this union Danelle Lynn was born. She was later married on February 4, 1981 to Herbert Lyle Big Crow Sr. (deceased) from this union Lloyd Michael, Jeanette Marie, and Herbert Lyle Jr. were born
On July 4, 1992 she married her Husband Donald Janis-Osborne Sr. from this union Donald Conrad Jr., Priscilla Mary, and Dawn Rose were born.
Nicholene had 3 Brothers Clement James “Jimmy”, Michael John and Robert Wayne Sr. (all deceased).
Nicholene got sick in 2002 having 5 different types of cancer she was a strong women to have battled all of them until the cancer took her from us, she made her journey to the spirit world on February 2, 2014. She was raised in the Catholic Church by her Mother & Father, she was a very loving & caring person who was always thinking of others.
She loved all her family very much. She will be greatly missed by all.
