Justin Wade Fisher passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Nebraska Medical Center – Clarkson Tower in Omaha, Nebraska. A month ago, Justin was diagnosed with cancer and fought a courageous battle against Leukemia.
Justin was born October 5, 1978 at Sidney, Nebraska, a twin to his brother, Jeremy and the third of four sons born to Larry and Sally (Hernandez) Fisher. He began his education at Minatare, Nebraska and then completed his high school years at Chadron, Nebraska High School with the class of 1998. Justin then pursued higher education at Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska.
While in college he met the love of his life, Micki Lynn Freeland. They were united in marriage on October 10, 2009 at Smith Falls State Park at Valentine, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with two children: Jonah Izak and Ridley Joe. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Justin was employed by Family Medical Specialties and Becton-Dickinson.
Justin enjoyed sharing his love of fishing with his boys and he was a strong advocate for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life. Most of all, Justin loved the time spent with his family and friends, especially the little ones, that called him, Uncle Jerky.
