07/01/2013 - Mary Lois (Arnold) Christensen

Funeral services for Mary Lois (Arnold) Christensen will be Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM.

She entered into this world December 27, 1919.  The Lord took her hand and lead her home May 27, 2013, but left her heart with her two children, Jerrie and Ronnie, and many dear friends and relatives.

She lived most of her 93 years in Chadron, Nebraska where she was born.  From age 15, until she graduated from Chadron High School in 1938, she was an usherette and cashier at the former Pace Theater.  After high school she moved to Seattle and worked at the Golden Rule Bakery.  She returned to Chadron, and in 1942 she married Franklin Christensen.  For many years they lived on a ranch north of Chadron.  She worked at the Safeway, Chadron State College, and the Pine Ridge Job Corps from which she retired at age 75.  In 1997 she moved to Arizona to live near her daughter and son, but always remembered and cherished the many friendships she had enjoyed through the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; parents Amanda Pilsbury and Edwin Arnold; stepfather Schuyler Pilsbury; sisters Maxine (Arnold) Coggan and Elizabeth (Pilsbury) Pennington, and brothers Dick and Eddie Arnold.  She is survived by her daughter, Jerrie Roberts (Larry), and son, Ron Christensen (Sonya) of Arizona, brother Bob Arnold (Carrie) of California, cousins Frederick, Betty, Doris, Mary and Faye, and many dear friends.
