Funeral services for Edith Louise Pfister, age 90 of Whitney, Nebraska will be Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford with Father Bernard Berger and Father Tim Stoner officiating.
Burial will be at 12:30 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Chadron.
Memorials have been established for the Crawford Rescue Unit and Ponderosa Villa. Donations may be left with Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Edith passed away Friday, April 19, at Ponderosa Villa.
Edith was born March 21, 1923 in Chadron, Nebraska to William Harry and Isabelle Ellen Combs. She attended Chadron public schools and graduated from Chadron High School. On June 6, 1955, she married Leo Pfister. For 55 years they made their home on their farm north of Whitney. In 2010 they moved to Ponderosa Villa in Crawford.
Edith had a deep faith and was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed homemaking and was exceptional cook, hosting many Sunday dinners and picnics in the yard. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts, her specialty being delicate hand-crocheted doilies. Her welcoming farm kitchen was always open for friends and neighbors to gather for coffee and conversation.

Grandchildren: Chris Fuhs of Roseville, MN; Matt (Amy) Fuhs of Anoka, MN.
